MELANIE MAROD is back at Toshi’s Living Room! Friday March 14th! from 6pm-10pm Melanie was born and raised in Grand Haven, Michigan where she began singing and expressing her love for music at the age of seven. By age ten, she had performed in the musical Sweeney Todd with Tony Award Winner, George Hearn and Pamela Meyer. Melanie graduated from Hope College with a B.A. in Musical Theatre. She has studied opera in Buenos Aires, Argentina at Instituto Universitario Nacional de Arte and trained at Hillsong College in Sydney, Australia. Since moving to New York City she has sung at Birdland, The Algonquin, The Oak Room at The Plaza Hotel, The Carlton as well as various venues throughout the city. Her influences are Stacey Kent, Billie Holiday, Aretha Franklin, and Nat King Cole. http://melaniemarod.com/
